There is the kind of attentiveness we all use unconsciously to engage with the familiar tasks and events of the day and to respond to the challenges that may arise.

As we turn into a new year, it is common to reflect on the year we have just experienced, to take stock, note the joys and sorrows, and harvest the lessons.
